Privacy

dc-intelligence is a public, read-only information resource. It does not require an account and does not build a profile about you.

What we do not collect

The product does not collect personal information, does not use advertising, and does not run behavioural analytics. It does not ask you to sign in or submit content.

Operational logging

To keep the service running and secure, the application logs basic operational events such as request paths, response status and timing. The application does not log your search queries or your IP address in its own logs. Google Cloud, which hosts the service, may process network metadata such as IP addresses as part of its standard operation.

The map provider

The basemap is provided by Mapbox. When you view the map, your browser communicates directly with Mapbox to load map tiles and styles. Mapbox may process your IP address and may collect anonymous usage information. This processing may occur outside Australia. dc-intelligence does not send facility intelligence or your search input to Mapbox.

Browser storage

The application stores a small amount of state in your browser to remember interface choices such as dismissing the introduction. It does not use this to identify you.

Evidence links

Evidence links open third-party publisher websites in a new tab. When you open one, that publisher will see that you visited its site, consistent with normal web browsing.

Where the service runs

The application and its database run in Google Cloud in Sydney, Australia. Static delivery may be served through a content delivery network with locations outside Australia. The map provider operates its own infrastructure. The product does not claim that all metadata remains in Australia.
